ZFP L100 ST Automatic Sheet-Fed Laminator

The ZFP L100 ST is a compact, fully automatic laminating line sized for digital press output. It combines a top-suction sheet feeder, overlapped thermal lamination on a chrome-plated steel cylinder, and in-line burst separation in one continuous machine, run by a single operator. If your shop prints 13" x 19" sheets and sends lamination out to a trade finisher, the L100 ST brings that work in-house at roughly 1,800 sheets per hour. ZFP has more than two decades of industrial lamination experience, and every machine is designed, machined, and assembled in-house at its factory in Poland.

The L100 ST laminates digital and offset print with gloss, matte, and soft-touch OPP thermal films on stocks from 115 to 400 gsm. Extended feeder options take sheets over 39 inches long on the same compact platform, sized for book covers, case wraps, and other long-sheet work, and an optional foiling rewinder adds digital foiling and sleeking so one machine handles both lamination and foil embellishment.

The L100 ST is available exclusively through Supply55, Inc. in the United States and Canada. Machines, wear parts, installation, operator training, and service are all handled by Supply55.

HOW THE L100 ST RUNS

Load the feed table and set the film; the machine feeds, laminates, separates, and stacks.

Automatic Feeding That Keeps Up

A movable top-rear suction feed head comes standard. Sheets lift from the top of the pile with overlap accuracy within ±0.08" and no sheet-to-sheet dragging, which matters on digital prints where toner and coatings scratch easily.

  • The feed head paces itself to machine speed, so feeding never becomes the bottleneck.
  • An on-the-run decurl bar flattens sheets without stopping the machine.
  • A missing-sheet sensor keeps film off the roller if the feeder ever misses a sheet.
  • The roller system carries even low-grammage stock cleanly.

Heat Control Built for Digital Stock

The L100 ST laminates on a thick-wall, chrome-plated steel cylinder with the temperature sensor inside the laminating zone rather than at the cylinder edge, so the machine controls the heat the film actually sees.

  • The cylinder's thermal mass holds temperature steady through long runs and back-to-back jobs instead of chasing setpoint.
  • Roller pressure adjusts pneumatically.
  • The film web shifts sideways during operation, so alignment corrections happen without stopping the machine or wasting film.
  • Energy-saving heating control keeps power draw down between jobs.

In-Line Burst Separation

Overlapped sheets come off the cylinder as a continuous laminated stream. The perforator sits behind the pull rollers, which prevents web tearing and allows higher running speeds, and the electronically controlled separator bursts the stream back into single sheets.

  • An air cushion floats each sheet onto a delivery tray that adjusts to the sheet size.
  • Laminated work stacks ready for cutting, folding, or packing, with no hand separation and no second pass.
  • For OPP, nylon, and polyester films that cannot be burst cleanly, the same platform is built as the L100 FK with flying-knife separation.

Digital Foiling and Sleeking

With the optional foiling rewinder, the L100 ST applies digital foil over toner in the same pass architecture it uses for lamination. Print the areas to be foiled, run the sheet with foil instead of film, and metallic covers, cards, and invitations come off the same compact machine that laminates them.

Standalone Operation

Touchscreen control with remote diagnostic and software support, and fully standalone operation: no network integration or external data exchange is required to run the machine.

OPTIONS FOR THE L100 ST

Extended feeder - Available in three lengths (34.6", 37.4", and 41.3"), taking sheets over 39 inches long for book covers, case wraps, dust jackets, and other long-sheet work.

Foiling rewinder - Adds digital foiling and sleeking, so the machine applies metallic foil over toner as well as laminating film.

Extended delivery tray - Replaces the standard adjustable tray with a tray up to 39" for long-sheet work at the delivery end.

Casters with lifting foot - Roll the machine to where the work is, then set it down level.

Unwinder and rewinder modules - Adapt the machine for roll-to-roll operation when web work comes through occasionally. For dedicated web production, ZFP also builds a purpose-built roll-to-roll laminator.

Pneumatic expanding film shaft - Speeds up film roll changes and holds the roll true at speed.

Jogger / sheet shaker - Squares the delivered stack as sheets come off the separator.

Side knife - Trims film at the sheet edge in line.

Deionising bar and nozzle - Controls static on digital stock before it reaches the nip.

90 gsm light-stock option - Extends the substrate range below the standard 115 gsm minimum.

Industry 4.0 connectivity - Optional network integration for shops that want it; as standard the machine runs fully standalone with no network or external data exchange required.

L100 FK

Trades burst separation for a servo-driven flying knife that cuts laminated sheets apart in motion. It runs slower than ST, and in exchange it handles the OPP, nylon, and polyester films that cannot be burst cleanly.

The photo book machine: two laminating stations in one frame, finishing both faces of the sheet to the same photo-grade quality in a single pass.
