ZFP Automatic Sheet-Fed Laminators for Digital & Offset Print Production

AUTOMATIC SINGLE-SIDED AND DOUBLE-SIDED LAMINATING MACHINES FOR COMMERCIAL PRINT

If your shop is sending laminated covers, cartons, and collateral out to a trade finisher, or feeding a roll laminator by hand between press runs, an automatic sheet-fed laminating line changes the math: automatic sheet feeding, overlapped thermal lamination, and in-line sheet separation in a single continuous cycle, run by one operator. Jobs that took days at an outside finisher come back in-house at production speed, on your schedule, at your margin.

ZFP designs, engineers, and manufactures these systems in Poland, and it knows lamination from the operator's side of the machine. The name stands for Zaklad Foliowania Papieru, Polish for Paper Laminating Plant: ZFP laminated for a living before it ever sold a machine. That production DNA shows in every system it builds, with ZFP laminators running in postpress operations worldwide. Every machine is designed, machined, and assembled in-house at the ZFP factory to European manufacturing standards.

Supply55, Inc. is the exclusive North American distributor for ZFP, operating as an extension of the factory in the United States and Canada. Machines, wear parts, installation, operator training, and service are all handled by Supply55 from our facility in Michigan, with direct factory support behind every system we sell.

ZFP automatic laminators apply thermal laminating film, including gloss, matte, and soft-touch OPP, to printed sheets in formats from 13" x 19" digital sheets (B3) through B2 and full-size B1 offset sheets, in single-sided, double-sided, and hermetic encapsulation configurations. Burst and flying knife (FK) separation options match your stock range and film types, and every series supports digital foiling and sleeking for high-value embellished output.

CHOOSE YOUR FORMAT

B3 / 13" x 19" Digital Format

PICO SERIES

The Pico series is a compact, fully automatic laminating line sized for digital press output, handling sheets up to 14.6" x 21.3". If your shop runs 13" x 19" sheets on a digital press and sends lamination out to a trade finisher, the Pico brings that work in-house with automatic feeding and in-line separation in a footprint of just over 6 feet, laminating roughly 1,800 sheets per hour. Available in single-sided and double-sided configurations plus digital foiling capability, with the new DUO separator option combining burst and flying knife separation in one machine.

B2 Format

FUJI SERIES

The Fuji series is the B2 workhorse of the ZFP line, designed for publishers and commercial printers running mixed digital and offset work. It laminates sheets up to 21.3" x 29.1" at up to 66 feet per minute, a factory-rated 1,600 B2 sheets per hour, with a high-pile feeder for longer runs and an on-the-run adjustable decurl bar. Available in standard, FK (flying knife), EL (embossing line), and double-sided configurations, with extended feeder options for sheets over 1 meter in length.

B2 High Performance

ELBRUS SERIES

The Elbrus series is the higher-specification B2 platform for shops where the laminator runs all shift. It laminates up to 115 feet per minute, roughly 2,800 B2 sheets per hour, with an oil-filled heating cylinder that holds laminating temperature rock steady through long runs and heavy stocks up to 600 gsm. A standard pallet feeder keeps it loaded. Available in standard, Landscape (long-edge-first), and double-sided configurations.

B2 Encapsulation

MATTERHORN SERIES

The Matterhorn is a fully automatic industrial encapsulating machine built for trade finishers and production operations running sealed-edge work in volume. It laminates both sides of the sheet in a single pass and forms a rigid sealed margin around the edges, fully enclosing the print in film. Hermetic double-sided encapsulation protects work that gets handled hard or exposed to moisture, including menus, maps, instruction cards, POS materials, tags, and reference sheets. The Matterhorn handles B2 sheets up to 21.3" x 29.1" at up to 82 feet per minute, roughly 1,900 encapsulated sheets per hour, with extended feeder options for sheets over 39" in length and an optional foiling rewinder. For operations quoting encapsulation as a service, it turns sealed-edge work into an automated production line.

KILIMANJARO, DENALI & EVEREST SERIES

Full-size automatic lamination for 40" press rooms, laminating sheets up to 29.9" x 41.3". The Kilimanjaro is the entry point into B1 lamination at 115 feet per minute, roughly 2,000 B1 sheets per hour in a remarkably compact frame. The Denali series steps up to 131 feet per minute, about 2,200 B1 sheets per hour, with double-sided and 1050 Landscape configurations. The Everest series is the ZFP flagship, running up to 197 feet per minute, roughly 3,400 B1 sheets per hour, with 6-ton roller pressure, synchronized feed head and front lays, and full pallet-to-pallet automation for high-volume offset production.

Double-sided autoline systems are coming to the North American lineup. Contact Supply55 for availability.

BENEFITS OF ZFP LAMINATING EQUIPMENT

  • MORE THAN TWO DECADES OF LAMINATION EXPERTISE - ZFP is a 100% Polish-owned manufacturer that began as a working paper lamination plant. The machines are engineered by people who ran lamination as a production business first.
  • AUTOMATIC FEEDING AND SEPARATION - Automatic sheet feeding, overlapped lamination, and in-line separation reduce manual handling and operator labor. Pallet-to-pallet operation with automatic stacking is standard or optional across the line.
  • DIGITAL FOILING AND SLEEKING - Every ZFP series supports digital foiling with an optional foiling rewinder, letting one machine handle both protective lamination and high-value foil embellishment of digital prints.
  • SEPARATION OPTIONS - Burst and flying knife (FK) separation configurations are available to match stock weights, film types, and edge quality requirements, plus the DUO separator on the latest platforms, which combines both technologies in one compact machine so no film type is off the table.
  • FORMAT RANGE - Systems from 13" x 19" digital sheets (B3) through B2 and full-size B1 formats, plus hermetic encapsulation, so the line grows with your press room.
  • TYPES OF WORK PROCESSED - Book covers, hardcover case wraps, photo albums, folding cartons, packaging, presentation folders, business cards, postcards, menus, book jackets, marketing collateral, and other printed sheet products laminated with gloss, matte, soft-touch, and specialty thermal films.
  • BUILT IN POLAND - Designed, machined, and assembled in-house at the ZFP factory to European manufacturing standards, with touchscreen control, Industry 4.0 connectivity, and remote software servicing available across the line.

ZFP ENGINEERING: BUILT LIKE A PRODUCTION MACHINE

Lamination quality comes down to heat control, sheet handling, and separation. ZFP engineers each of these systems for continuous production, not just a spec sheet number.

Engineered Heat Control

Every ZFP platform pairs a chrome-plated steel laminating cylinder with a heating architecture matched to its duty cycle: independently zoned internal heating panels on the compact B3 and B2 platforms, and oil-filled cylinders on the high-performance platforms for maximum temperature stability under continuous load. In both designs the temperature sensor sits inside the laminating zone rather than at the cylinder edge, delivering even heat across the full working width with no edge overheating, even on narrow sheets.

High Thermal Mass Cylinder

ZFP machines use a thick-wall laminating cylinder. The added thermal mass acts as a natural temperature stabilizer, holding consistent laminating temperature through long runs, heavy stocks, and back-to-back jobs instead of chasing setpoint as sheets pull heat out of the nip.

Top-Feed Suction Head, Standard

Every ZFP automatic laminator ships with a movable top-rear suction feed head as standard equipment, not a paid upgrade. Sheets feed from the top of the pile with overlap accuracy within ±2 mm and no sheet-to-sheet dragging, which matters on digital prints where toner and coatings scratch easily. The feed head adapts to machine speed, so feeding never becomes the bottleneck.

Floor-Level Pallet Loading

The pallet-loading table lowers to floor level, so a full pallet of sheets goes in with a pallet jack instead of being loaded lift by lift onto a raised table. Optional on the Fuji, standard on larger machines.

True Decurl Bar, Standard

A rigid sharp-edge decurl bar breaks the paper fibers to deliver genuinely flat laminated sheets, with adjustable bar angle to match the straightening force to your sheet and film thickness, adjustable on the run. Flat sheets go straight into cutting, folding, and binding without a flattening step.

Compact Burster Separation

In-line burst separation uses a perforating wheel after the pull rollers with asymmetrically closing separation rollers to rupture the film cleanly between sheets. The module occupies very little floor space compared to skew-roller separation systems and delivers reliable stacking, including on thin stocks. For films that resist bursting, FK and DUO configurations add flying knife separation.

UNDERSTANDING ZFP MODEL CONFIGURATIONS

ZFP builds each series in several configurations. The model suffix identifies how the machine is configured:

  • FK (Flying Knife) - A rotary flying knife cuts laminated sheets apart in motion for clean separated edges on OPP, nylon, and polyester films, ideal for coated digital stocks and films that resist burst separation.
  • DUO - Combines burst and flying knife separation in one compact machine, so a single laminator runs every film type at full rated speed without compromise. Available on the latest Pico platform.
  • PB / DS - Double-sided lamination configurations with two separately controlled laminating stations, laminating both sides of the sheet in-line with an identical finish on each side.
  • EL (Embossing Line) - Single-sided lamination with an in-line embossing station, adding textured finishes such as linen and leather patterns to laminated sheets in one pass.
  • Landscape - Long-edge-first feeding for landscape-oriented sheet workflows, available on B2 and B1 platforms, increasing throughput and adding flexibility when jobs are printed with different grain directions.
