ZFP L200 EM Automatic Sheet-Fed Laminator

FULLY AUTOMATIC B2 LAMINATION WITH IN-LINE EMBOSSING (EM)

The ZFP L200 EM is a fully automatic line for thermal lamination and embossing of B2 print in a single pass. The EM stands for embossing: after the sheet is laminated, an in-line embossing station presses a texture into the laminated surface, so linen, leather, and other patterned finishes come off the machine in the same trip that laminated them. Work that would otherwise mean a laminator plus a separate calendering pass runs as one automatic process, feed to stack. ZFP has more than two decades of industrial lamination experience, and every machine is designed, machined, and assembled in-house at its factory in Poland.

The L200 EM laminates digital and offset print on B2 sheets up to 21.3" x 29.1" in portrait orientation and stocks from 115 to 600 gsm, laminating at up to 66 feet per minute and embossing at up to 33. Embossing rollers change out for different textures, custom patterns are available on request, and with the extended feeder the same platform runs sheets over 39 inches long. An optional foiling rewinder adds digital foiling as well.

The L200 EM is available exclusively through Supply55, Inc. in the United States and Canada. Machines, wear parts, installation, operator training, and service are all handled by Supply55.

WHAT SETS THE L200 EM APART

Lamination, embossing, and sheet separation in a single automatic process.

Textured Finishes in the Lamination Pass

The embossing station sits in line after the laminating cylinder. The freshly laminated surface runs against an embossing roller that presses the pattern into the film while sheets move through, so texture is part of the lamination run, not a second operation.

  • Embossing rollers change out to switch textures between jobs, with linen, leather, and other patterns available.
  • Custom embossing patterns are available on request, so a shop can run a texture its competitors cannot.
  • Embossing runs at up to 33 feet per minute; straight lamination runs at the full 66.

One Line, One Process, One Operator

Feeding, lamination, embossing, and burst separation run as a single automatic process. Load the pile, set the film and the roller, and finished textured sheets come off the other end.

  • In-line burst separation delivers single sheets ready for cutting, folding, or packing.
  • Stocks to 600 gsm, so heavy cover boards run laminated and embossed in one pass.
  • A clear touchscreen operator panel holds the job settings.

Built Around the Operator

ZFP designed the L200 EM for the person running it all day: ergonomic layout and controls where the operator works.

  • Pneumatically adjustable rollers set nip pressure without tools.
  • An energy-saving heating control system keeps power draw down between jobs.

Digital Foiling

With the optional upper rewinder for foiling, the L200 EM applies digital foil over toner in the same pass architecture it uses for lamination. Combined with the embossing station, foil and texture come off one machine.

The Proven L200 Platform

The L200 EM is built on the same proven platform as the L200 ST: the top-rear suction feed head with ±0.08" accuracy and the on-the-run adjustable decurl bar. The embossing station changes what the machine finishes, not how it feeds and runs.

Any laminated work where a linen, leather, or custom texture sets the piece apart. With the extended feeder, sheets over 39 inches long run on the same platform.

OPTIONS FOR THE L200 EM

Extended feeder - Available in three lengths (34.6", 37.4", and 41.3"), taking sheets over 39 inches long for book covers, case wraps, and other long-sheet work.

Custom embossing patterns - Embossing rollers cut to a customer-specified texture, available on request.

Pallet-to-pallet operation - Pallet feeding device and automatic stacking of finished sheets for long runs.

Upper rewinder for foiling - Adds digital foiling, so the machine applies metallic foil over toner as well as laminating film.

Pneumatic expanding film shaft - Speeds up film roll changes and holds the roll true at speed.

Jogger / sheet shaker - Squares the delivered stack as sheets come off the separator.

Deionising bar and nozzle - Controls static on digital stock before it reaches the nip.

Industry 4.0 connectivity - Optional network integration for shops that want it; as standard the machine runs fully standalone with no network or external data exchange required.
