ZFP L420 ST Landscape Sheet-Fed Laminator
B1 LANDSCAPE LAMINATION ALIGNED WITH THE PRINT DIRECTION
The ZFP L420 ST is the landscape machine on the heavy-duty B1 platform in the ZFP line, an automatic laminating line with a 41.3" x 41.3" working area that takes B1 sheets long edge first and square sheets up to 41.3 inches. Feeding crosswise lets the machine laminate in line with the printing direction whatever way the job was imposed. ZFP has more than two decades of industrial lamination experience, and every machine is designed, machined, and assembled in-house at its factory in Poland.
The L420 ST laminates offset and digital print with gloss, matte, and soft-touch OPP thermal films at up to 131 feet per minute, on stocks from 115 to 600 gsm with a 90 gsm option for light stock. Jobs imposed with different grain directions run on one machine, and the open-sided frame keeps the feeder control settings and the pressure roller within reach instead of behind panels. The pallet feeder with floor-level drop table comes standard, an optional independently controlled automatic stacker completes pallet-to-pallet operation, and an optional foiling rewinder adds digital foiling on the same machine.
The L420 ST is sold and supported in the United States and Canada by Supply55, Inc. Machines, wear parts, installation, operator training, and service are all handled by Supply55.
HOW THE L420 ST RUNS
Load the pallet and set the film; the machine feeds, laminates, separates, and stacks.
Built Around the Print Direction
The working area is 41.3" x 41.3", so a B1 sheet feeds long edge first and laminates in line with the printing direction whichever way the job was imposed, and square sheets up to 41.3 inches run on the same machine.
- Jobs imposed with different grain directions run on one machine without re-imposing.
- Long-edge feeding sends the shorter dimension through the nip, so B1 jobs clear the machine faster.
Lamination and Separation in One Process
Sheets overlap on the cylinder and come off as a continuous laminated stream, and the bursting separator returns the stream to single sheets at full production speed. At up to 131 feet per minute, laminated B1 work stacks at the exit ready for cutting, folding, or packing, with no hand separation.
- An adjustable decurl bar flattens sheets after lamination, so they go straight into cutting and folding.
- Microprocessor control with an integrated touchscreen sets and holds the process parameters for the run.
Pallet Feeding Comes Standard
On the L420 ST, pallet feeding is standard equipment with a floor-level drop table, so B1 stock loads without raising lifts overhead, and the feed head lifts sheets with four suction points. Sheets feed with overlap accuracy within ±0.08" across the wide feed path the long-edge-first orientation is built around.
- Add the optional automatic stacker and the line runs pallet to pallet on long jobs.
- The open-sided frame keeps the feeder controls and pressure roller within reach, and the chrome-plated cylinder runs electric band heaters under precise control with pressure adjusted pneumatically.
Digital Foiling
With the optional foiling rewinder, the L420 ST applies digital foil over toner in the same pass architecture it uses for lamination. Print the areas to be foiled, then run the sheet with foil in place of laminating film.
Standalone Operation
Touchscreen control and fully standalone operation: no network integration or external data exchange is required to run the machine. Industry 4.0 connectivity is available as an option for shops that want it.

OPTIONS FOR THE L420 ST
Independently controlled automatic stacker - Stacks finished sheets at the machine exit on its own control panel, with accessories for moving palletized material; completes pallet-to-pallet operation with the standard pallet feeder.
B1 jogger / sheet shaker - Squares the stack as sheets come off the machine exit.
Side knife - Trims film at the sheet edge in line.
Film roll lifting device - Lifts film rolls into position for loading.
Foiling rewinder - Adds digital foiling, so the machine applies metallic foil over toner as well as laminating film.
Deionising bar and nozzle - Controls static on digital stock before it reaches the nip.
