ZFP L270 EC Industrial Encapsulating Machine
HERMETIC DOUBLE-SIDED ENCAPSULATION FOR B2 PRINT
The ZFP L270 EC is the encapsulating machine in the ZFP line, a fully automatic line for hermetic double-sided hot lamination of paper and board up to B2 format. Two laminating units finish both faces of the sheet to the same quality, and the laminate seals into a rigid margin around the sheet edge, closing the print inside the film for durable protection. ZFP has more than two decades of industrial lamination experience, and every machine is designed, machined, and assembled in-house at its factory in Poland.
The L270 EC encapsulates B2 sheets up to 21.3" x 29.1" on stocks from 90 to 450 gsm, laminating and separating sheets in a single process at up to 82 feet per minute. It holds lamination quality even with films from the economical range, which matters on encapsulation work where film is a large share of the job cost. Extended feeder options take sheets over 39 inches long, and an optional foiling rewinder adds digital foiling on the same machine.
The L270 EC is sold and supported in the United States and Canada by Supply55, Inc. Machines, wear parts, installation, operator training, and service are all handled by Supply55.
HOW THE L270 EC RUNS
Load the feeder and set the film; the machine feeds, encapsulates, separates, and stacks.
Hermetic Encapsulation on Both Sides
The L270 EC laminates the top and bottom faces of the sheet in two laminating units, with every process parameter monitored continuously on both. The film extends past the sheet edge and the layers bond to each other there, forming a rigid sealed margin that closes the print inside the laminate.
- Both faces come out with the same lamination quality, monitored on both units through the run.
- Lamination and sheet separation happen in a single process, so encapsulated sheets come off the machine finished.
Heat and Pressure Control
The L270 EC laminates on a chrome-plated steel cylinder with an energy-saving heating control system and pneumatically adjustable roller pressure. The operating range runs 86 to 293 F, wide enough to cover encapsulating films across the price range, and the machine holds quality even on films from the economical end.
- Sheets feed with accuracy within ±0.08", and an adjustable decurl bar flattens them after lamination.
- A touchscreen control panel sets and holds the process parameters for the run.
A Footprint That Fits the Shop
The full line is 59.1 inches long, 47.2 inches wide, and weighs 1,102 pounds, running on 11.0 kW at 400V with 9.4 CFM of compressed air at 101 psi. Sheet feeding is hand loaded as standard, and a pallet-to-pallet feeding system with an independently controlled automatic stacker is available for longer runs.
Digital Foiling
With the optional foiling rewinder, the L270 EC applies digital foil over toner on the same machine. Print the areas to be foiled, run the sheet with foil instead of film, and foiled work comes off the same equipment that encapsulates.
Standalone Operation
Touchscreen control and fully standalone operation: no network integration or external data exchange is required to run the machine. Industry 4.0 connectivity is available as an option for shops that want it.

Extended feeder - Available in three lengths (34.6", 37.4", and 41.3"), taking sheets over 39 inches long for oversize encapsulation work.
Pallet-to-pallet feeding system - Feeds long runs from the pallet instead of hand-loaded lifts.
Independently controlled automatic stacker - Stacks finished sheets at the machine exit on its own controls.
Jogger / sheet shaker - Squares the stack as sheets come off the machine exit.
Foiling rewinder - Adds digital foiling, so the machine applies metallic foil over toner as well as encapsulating film.
Pneumatic expanding swing-out film mandrels - Speed up film roll changes and hold the roll true at speed.
